Fall Flowers in Our Yard

It's wonderful to have a flowering yard in mid-November. Here are two of my favorites, which Beth helped identify as clematis and foxglove. We have some of each in a vase in the kitchen right now. But the cold weather is coming in just a few days.

Food Truck Rodeo

Last Sunday was the first ever Trinity Park Food Truck Rodeo & Hootenanny. Over 250 people from the neighborhood gathered at the park along with four four food trucks and a couple of musicians. We collected almost 50 bags of nonperishable food for a local charity. Here is Cyrus's sign for the hot cider we sold to raise a little money for the neighborhood association. It was a wonderful event and Jeff created it!

Tae Kwon Do Testing a Few Weeks Ago

No, the boy jumping is not Cyrus! He's on the left against the wall, watching in awe.

NC State Fair in October

We hit the fair on the very last day. It was a gorgeous day and we arrived early enough to beat the biggest crowds. However, unlike last year, Eliza was a major handful and Cyrus was impatient getting to things he liked. We had a pretty exhausting time of it.

Eliza and Cyrus shared the wagon some of the time. Here they are with their new hugs they won in a fishing game called "pay $3 for a small stuffed animal".

Jeff did a lot of wagon pulling and not enough fair food noshing this year.

Cyrus loved the kids rides. He went on a few by himself and with Mommy on one that was a little bit spinny.

The farm animals were Eliza's favorite.

Happy Halloween!

We brought our astronaut and giraffe to our neighborhood Halloween party at Trinity Park. Then we went trick-or-treating and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Jeff put a walkie-talkie in Cyrus' candy pail, and when Cyrus walked up to each house Jeff talked into the other walkie-talkie, "trick-or-treat from outer space!" We came home and gave out candy for a little while and then went to our neighbors' house for chili and people watching on the front porch.

Visit to Charleston in September

Our delightful visit with Beth, William & Porter was NOT ruined by a diesel engine fiasco that occurred at the end of the weekend...
